The role of energy storage for future energy supplies is the topic of “Energy Storage – International Summit for the Storage of Renewable Energies”. The conference and accompanying technical exhibition is scheduled to take place from March 13 to 14, 2012, in Düsseldorf, Germany.

The event will focus on practical feasibility. As such , i will bring together representatives fromresearch, industry, politics and energy supply in order to shed light on commercially viable applications and innovative concepts for energy storage, as well as on their potential and bankability.

The conference contains the following session themes:

·         The overall context of the energy supply industry: The role of storage technologies for future energy supply;

·         Stages of development and commercial viability of various technologies such as batteries, thermal, hydrogen storage systems and major storage power plants; and

·         Final discussion and development of a roadmap for the further development of commercially viable storage technologies.
