Solar Power UK 2012

Following the success of 2011, and with the aim of guaranteeing the UK industries sustainable growth, Solar Power UK will be back bigger then ever in 2012. Having moved to the UK’s second largest city in 2011, Solar Power UK 2012 is being held at Birmingham’s NEC - UK’s largest exhibition centre.  With over 3 600 people taking part in 2011’s event, Solar Power UK has cemented its name as the number-one gathering of the UK solar industry.  

2011’s solar PV focused event, comprised of a full three-day exhibition, four specialised conferences and additional training sessions and educational seminars. Carrying on from the sell out 2010 event, this year’s main conference explored government policy, the industry supply chain, and the key themes that support a sustainable solar future in the UK. A dedicated conference examining BIPV was also hosted by the renowned BRE Trust and the Solar Trade Association co-located their annual conference to run alongside the event. Local government and public sector stakeholders also took part in a series of meetings which looked at ways in which PV and solar thermal technologies could be used in the transition to a low-carbon economy. 

Due to popular demand, 2011’s exhibition was expanded to bring together over 130 exhibitors showcasing their products and services for the fastest-growing PV and solar thermal market in Europe. And next year, it is only going to be bigger and better.

Being held over October 2-4, Solar Power UK 2012 will cover all areas relevant to those working in the UK’s solar industry. Within the four purpose built halls, the conference will focus on four key areas – installation, project finance, photovoltaic technology and solar thermal. The official Gala Networking Event will also be hosted in 2012, and will further enhance the breadth and scope of the event and networking opportunities. Solar Power UK 2012’s will be held in a chic Birmingham location, yet to be announced.
